Davidson Gets 200th Career Win Over Dawson CC

In Glendive, Montana, the Casper College Mens’ basketball team took on the Buccaneers of Dawson Community College. After a long bus ride, the T-Birds held strong to defeat Dawson by a score of 80 to 70. After being up by 20 points several times throughout the contest, the Birds held a 13 point lead at halftime, and maintained a consistent lead of 10-12 points during the second half.

Jerrold Brooks, sophomore guard for the Thunderbirds, led the way with 24 points and 4 steals. Darrious Curry had a hot hand shooting the ball and ended with 13 points. Remi Dibo chipped in with 11. Casper’s bench proved to be the anchor for Joel Davidson and his crew, outscoring Dawson’s bench 45-17.

Last night’s victory was also one for the history books as Joel Davidson recorded his 200th career win as a head coach. Davidson is in his ninth season as a Region IX head coach; his fourth year at Casper College after spending five years at Sheridan College. At Sheridan College, Davidson's posted a 122-38 (.763) record in five seasons. In 2006, he was named Region IX Coach of the Year. Since his arrival in Casper three years ago, the Thunderbirds have averaged 20 wins each year. Twenty wins in a season is admirable, especially in an era when there are great teams everywhere.

Working towards yet another 20 win season this year, Joel Davidson continues to prove why he is one of the best coaches around; not only the region, but also in the country. Congratulations to Coach Joel Davidson and his family, staff, and all of his players, current and former, who have contributed to this great landmark!
