Remi Dibo

Casper College and Joel Davidson are happy to announce the signing of Remi Dibo from Paris, France.  The French native comes to Casper via Mountain State Academy in Beckley, WV.  Originally Dibo had committed to play for the University of Kentucky in the spring of 2009.  The 6’9 235 pound forward has a tremendous skill set for being his size.  “He is extremely athletic for being 6’9-6’10 but what is even more scary, he is far more talented then he is a good athlete” Davidson mentioned of his new signee.

The big, talented forward is a very good shooter and has the ability to put the ball on the floor and either finish above the rim or shoot it off the dribble going both directions. Dibo is a match up problem because he can play inside and out. He can power over smaller defenders as well. He has great touch and passes over or around opponents and is an excellent passer as well.

Last season at Mountain State Academy, Remi averaged 19 ppg and 8 rebounds a contest for the Falcons.  He had several good outings at the prep school but most notably against national powerhouse Oak Hill Academy while being ranked #3 in the country at the time by ESPN.com.  With time winding down, Dibo banked in a long jumper from the top of the key to propel No. 6 Mountain State past No. 3 Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) in the opening round of the ESPN RISE National High School Invitational.

“We are very fortunate to have a great young man such as Remi and happy he is a great talent.” Said Head Coach Joel Davidson.  “Our staff is working with Remi every day in the weight room and on the floor with individual work to tighten up his game to play at the highest level.”  Currently Remi is receiving interest from Kentucky, Auburn, Washington, Baylor, Utah, Virginia Commonwealth, and many others. 

The highly touted Paris, France native is also a dual citizen of the Ivory Coast and played on their Junior National team last summer. He will play for the Casper College Thunderbirds in 2011-2012 season.  Joel Davidson expects big things from his new signee.  Casper College will get to see an elite talent help them make a run at “Hutch” next season.
